Scrimshaw Journal is published annually, showcasing the collective creative brilliance of current and former students and staff of Atlantic Technological University (ATU).
Every year, Scrimshaw gets a brand new editorial team which gives each volume its distinct style. This year we broadened the scope of submissions to include audiovisual, music and the use of Gaelige. On the other hand, we restricted submissions to pieces that take no longer than five minutes to read, watch or listen to. We also like the colour green.
We looked for contributions with as many different voices and view points as we could fit in, and we are grateful to everyone who took a risk and sent us their work. We have always been more interested in unique ideas than making sure commas are in the right place - at least until now when we are drawing to the close of the editing process. We take everything seriously, including apostrophes and humour.
